COESA

What is COESA?
COESA was a non-profit organization that promoted Brazilian culture and helped Brazilians in Western Pennsylvania through cultural, social, linguistic and educational activities, with the goal of preserving Brazilian cultural heritage and providing support to the Brazilian community. Today, COESA is no longer in operation and some of the activities it offered were maintained by PHDC, such as the Trilingual Program.

Relationship between COESA and PHDC?

PHDC hosted COESA so that it could carry out its activities. In June 2023, COESA officially ended its activities and PHDC will continue to maintain some of its activities, including the Trilingual Program.

Its mission was to preserve and cultivate the Brazilian heritage through the organization of various cultural, social, service, linguistic, artistic and educational activities in the region, as well as to promote cultural exchange and understanding among peoples of different origins.

PHDC will maintain its vision of building bridges between newcomers and the established community with the continuity of the Trilingual Program and the organization of social events that promote diversity, respect and tolerance so that everyone can grow together.
